General Information

Cake is joy and celebration. Life’s sweetest moments are best savoured with a touch of indulgence, and crafted with care and passion. I believe that everything is better with butter and good chocolate, so I never skimp on quality ingredients. 

I have been baking since I was a child, my sister and I used to see who make the better lemon meringue pie or malva pudding, and I continued trying new and more challenging recipes as I got older. When COVID hit and my social media business stalled, I got back into the kitchen with some fresh motivation to try some new recipes and techniques. 4 years later, I am still here and doing it full-time.

As a cake and pastry lover myself, there’s nothing worse than getting excited to taste that beautiful treat, only to be disappointed. I know what I like when it comes to treats, so I make sure that everything I make is up to that same standard. Moist sponge, silky buttercream, crunchy cookie bases, rich chocolate, perfectly balanced lemon curd that is both sweet and has that wonderful tang to it… these are a few of my favourite things!! 

When it comes to decorating, I love learning new techniques and getting stuck into a new theme or design, and I especially love decorating wedding cakes as that is where I get to create those elegant designs I love.

Whipped Sugar is based in Bloubergstrand, Cape Town. I am always working on making my communication and quoting process simpler and quicker so that I can get on with the business of creating and you can relax, knowing that part of your event is taken care of and in good hands.
