Voting lines will open on 14 February 2025 at 12:00 pm for all participants.

Voting closes on 28 February 2025 at 12:00 pm.

The Top 20 will be announced on 3 March 2025.

Top 20 voting starts on 4 March 2025 at 12:00pm.

Top 20 voting closes on 18 March 2025 at 12:00 pm.

The Top 12 will be announced on 19 March 2025.

Top 12 voting starts on 24 March 2025 at 12:00 pm.

Top 12 voting closes on 7 April 2025 at 12:00 pm.

The Top 5 will be announced on 9 April 2025.

The winner will be announced on 16 April 2025.

Please read the following carefully before entering the Bride of the Year 2024 competition:

  • The competition is open to South African residents only, i.e. participants should be in possession of a valid South African identity document or other valid proof of residency.
  • The directors, representatives and employees of Bruidsgids or their immediate family members or any sponsor or service provider associated with Bruidsgidsshall not be permitted to participate in the competition.
  • A non-refundableentry fee of R150 (VAT incl.) is payable by prospective participants upon submission of a completed entry form.
  • In order to enter the competition, prospective participants should display proof of their participation in a marriage ceremony between January 2024 and December 2024. Prospective participants shall not qualify to enter the competition if their marriage ceremonies have not been concluded within this time period.
  • Entries close on 31 January 2025 at 12:00 pm.

  • The Top 5 will be announced on 9 April 2025.
  • The winner will be announced on 16 April 2025.
  • The winner will be contacted directly on the contact details provided in the entry form.
  • Entries will be considered incomplete and thus invalid if all the documents and photographs were not submitted to Bruidsgidsprior to the closing date for entries.
  • Entries received after the entry closing date will not be valid, regardless of the reason for the late entry.
  • All entries and content submitted may be used for current and future promotional and marketing purposes by Bruidgids.
  • By submitting your content to Bruidsgids, you expressly authorise Bruidsgids to publish, disseminate, reproduce and/or use in any other manner the content provided on its websites, social media and any other platforms, magazines or publications in which Bruidsgids appears or manages.
  • Bruidsgidsreserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and shall have the sole discretion to reject any entries should it deem such rejection appropriate and necessary.
  • The Top 20, Top 12 and Top 5 finalists will be notified by means of the contact details provided on the entry form.
  • Publicly announcements of participants shall be made from the Top 20 stages onward.
  • An independent panel will consider the Top 5 brides and ultimately choose the winner.
  • The judges’ decisions are final, and no objections or further requests to review the decisions shall be entertained.
  • Participants shall be informed of the manner of the announcement of the winner.
  • SMS votes are charged at R5.00 per SMS.
  • How the shortcode works: SMS abc to 12345 (R5/SMS) 1 SMS = 1 Vote.
  • The final decision rests with Bruidsgids (Pty) Ltd.
  • Bruidsgids reserves the right to make social media announcements and/or publications pertaining to the finalists and winners.
  • Bruidsgids will not be held liable for any costs or expenses incurred by a participant during and for purposes of participating in the competition.
  • Bruidsgids is not responsible for any entries not received by us, regardless of the cause thereof.
  • Bruidsgids shall not be responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information or any entry submissions that are processed late, incorrectly, incomplete, or lost due to a computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the internet or any website. Late entries shall be invalid regardless of the reason for the lateness.
  • Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for their cash value.
  • Bruidsgids, sponsors, and all service providers will not be held responsible for any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions in connection with, or resulting from, participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.
  • Bruidsgids may, at its absolute discretion, vary the terms and conditions to suspend or terminate the competition, and the participant agrees that she shall have no claim against Bruidsgids for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the variation and/or termination of the competition.
  • The competition winner undertakes to make herself available to any and all marketing and content creation opportunities for Bruidsgids throughout her reign. Should she refuse to cooperate with this condition, she may be stripped of her title, which will then be awarded to the second runner-up.
  • The winner will act as an ambassador of Bruidsgids during all relevant times and agrees to uphold and protect the reputation, values and good name of Bruidsgids.
  • Your entry into this competition constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • You expressly state that none of the content submitted to Bruidsgids contravenes any Act or constitutes an infringement of the intellectual property rights or any other rights of third parties, and you indemnify Bruidsgids, its directors, representatives and/or employees against any claims resulting from any submitted content by any third party.
  • Bruidsgids shall not be liable for any damages suffered as a result of the publication of your content through its platforms.
  • Any indulgence or latitude by Bruidsgids in respect of these terms and conditions should not be construed as a waiver or a novation of the rights and obligations in terms hereof.
  • Both Partiesagree that they will comply with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and Regulations and process all the information and/or personal data in accordance with the said legislation and only for the purpose of delivering the rights and obligations in terms of this Agreement.  
  • By entering this competition, you give us permission to share your details with the Bride of the Year 2024 sponsors.
  • LogicSMS is a member of WASPA and is bound by the WASPA Code of Conduct. Customers have the right to approach WASPA to lodge a complaint in accordance with the WASPA complaints procedure. LogicSMS may be required to share information relating to a service or a customer with WASPA for the purpose of resolving a complaint. WASPA web site: waspa.org.za.
  • LogicSMS has the right to suspend or terminate the services of any customer who does not comply with these terms and conditions or any other related contractual obligations.
  • LogicSMS has the right to take down any content (hosted as part of the service) that it considers illegal or for which it has received a take-down notice.
  • Handset requirement: Access to an SMS application. FREE SMS’ DO NOT APPLY.
  • This SMS service will not be used to do any of the following:
  1. to intentionally engage in illegal conduct
  2. to knowingly create, store or disseminate any illegal content
  3. to knowingly infringe copyright
  4. to knowingly infringe any intellectual property rights, or
  5. to send spam or promote the sending of spam
