Please read the following carefully before entering the Bride of the Year 2025 competition:
• The competition is open to South African residents only, i.e. participants should be in possession of a valid South African identity document or other valid proof of residency.
• The directors, representatives and employees of Bruidsgids or their immediate family members or any sponsor or service provider associated with Bruidsgids shall not be permitted to participate in the competition.
• A non-refundable entry fee of R150 (VAT incl.) is payable by prospective participants upon submission of a completed entry form.
• In order to enter the competition, prospective participants should display proof of their participation in a marriage ceremony between January 2025 and December 2025. Prospective participants shall not qualify to enter the competition if their marriage ceremonies have not been concluded within this time period.
• Entries open on 17 February 2025 @ 12:00pm

• Remember, every time you ask your supporters to vote, you must include the full call to action.
• Your unique keyword should be used correctly for your vote to count.
• The final decision rests with Bruidsgids (Pty) Ltd.
• Bruidsgids reserves the right to make social media announcements and/or publications pertaining to the finalists and winners.
• Bruidsgids will not be held liable for any costs or expenses incurred by a participant during and for purposes of participating in the competition.
• Bruidsgids is not responsible for any entries not received by us, regardless of the cause thereof.
• Bruidsgids shall not be responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information or any entry submissions that are processed late, incorrectly, incomplete, or lost due to a computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the internet or any website. Late entries shall be invalid regardless of the reason for the lateness.
• Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for their cash value.
• Bruidsgids, sponsors, and all service providers will not be held responsible for any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions in connection with, or resulting from, participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.
• Bruidsgids may, at its absolute discretion, vary the terms and conditions to suspend or terminate the competition, and the participant agrees that she shall have no claim against Bruidsgids for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the variation and/or termination of the competition.
• The competition winner undertakes to make herself available to any and all marketing and content creation opportunities for Bruidsgids throughout her reign. Should she refuse to cooperate with this condition, she may be stripped of her title, which will then be awarded to the second runner-up.
• The winner will act as an ambassador of Bruidsgids during all relevant times and agrees to uphold and protect the reputation, values and good name of Bruidsgids.
• Your entry into this competition constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
• You expressly state that none of the content submitted to Bruidsgids contravenes any Act or constitutes an infringement of the intellectual property rights or any other rights of third parties, and you indemnify Bruidsgids, its directors, representatives and/or employees against any claims resulting from any submitted content by any third party.
• Bruidsgids shall not be liable for any damages suffered as a result of the publication of your content through its platforms.
• Any indulgence or latitude by Bruidsgids in respect of these terms and conditions should not be construed as a waiver or a novation of the rights and obligations in terms hereof.
• Both Parties agree that they will comply with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and Regulations and process all the information and/or personal data in accordance with the said legislation and only for the purpose of delivering the rights and obligations in terms of this Agreement.
• By entering this competition, you give us permission to share your details with the Bride of the Year 2025 sponsors.
• Network fees may apply.
• LogicSMS is a member of WASPA and is bound by the WASPA Code of Conduct. Customers have the right to approach WASPA to lodge a complaint in accordance with the WASPA complaints procedure. LogicSMS may be required to share information relating to a service or a customer with WASPA for the purpose of resolving a complaint. WASPA web site: waspa.org.za.
• LogicSMS has the right to suspend or terminate the services of any customer who does not comply with these terms and conditions or any other related contractual obligations.
• LogicSMS has the right to take down any content (hosted as part of the service) that it considers illegal or for which it has received a take-down notice.
• Cellphone Compatibility. A Cellphone registered on a South African network with access to SMS capabilities. Cellphone will need a SMS application and sufficient airtime. Free SMS/airtime does not apply.
The service won’t be used by Bruidsgids (Pty) Ltd:
The terms and conditions for any service must not contain clauses that contradict the requirements of the WASPA Code of Conduct.
The service must only be used with the permission of the bill-payer (for paid services).
The service must only be used with the permission of a parent or guardian (for children’s services).

BRUIDSGIDS PRIVATE PRIVACY STATEMENT – effective date 20 September 2023
THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT FORMS PART OF BRUIDSGIDS GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY TERM OF THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT, YOU MUST CEASE YOUR ACCESS IMMEDIATELY.
1. Definitions and Interpretation
1.1. “Bruidsgids” means Bruidsgids (Pty) Ltd.
1.2. “Personal Information” means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person and, where it is applicable, identifiable, existing juristic person, including all information as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
1.3. “Processing” means the creation, generation, communication, storage, and destruction of personal information as more fully defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
1.4. “You” or the “user” means anyone who accesses and browses BRUIDSGIDS website or any social media platform of BRUIDSGIDS for any purpose.
2. Status and Amendments
2.1. BRUIDSGIDS respects your privacy. This privacy policy statement sets out BRUIDSGIDS’s information gathering and dissemination practices.
2.2. This Privacy Policy governs the processing of personal information provided to BRUIDSGIDS.
2.3. Please note that, due to legal and other developments, BRUIDSGIDS may amend these terms and conditions from time to time. The version of the terms and conditions effective for this Privacy Policy are indicated by the effective date incorporated in the title of this Privacy Policy. It is your duty to remain appraised of the current version of this Privacy Policy. The date indicated in the heading of this Privacy Policy is the effective date that governs the browsing and use of this Privacy Policy from that date until the next revision of this Privacy Policy becomes effective.
2.4. By continuing to browse or use this Privacy Statement after a revised Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your agreement to observe this Privacy Policy as it may be revised.
3. Processing of Personal Information
3.1. By providing your personal information to BRUIDSGIDS, you acknowledge that it has been collected directly from you and consent to its processing by BRUIDSGIDS.
3.2. Where you submit Personal Information (such as name, address, telephone number and email address) via the website (e.g. through completing any online form), the following principles are observed in the processing of that information:
3.2.1. BRUIDSGIDS will only collect personal information for a purpose consistent with the purpose for which it is required. The specific purpose for which information is collected will be apparent from the context in which it is requested.
3.2.2. BRUIDSGIDS will only process personal information in a manner that is adequate, relevant and not excessive in the context of the purpose for which it is processed.
3.2.3. Personal information will only be processed for a purpose compatible with that for which it was collected unless you have agreed to an alternative purpose in writing or BRUIDSGIDS is permitted in terms of national legislation of general application dealing primarily with the protection of personal information.
3.2.4. BRUIDSGIDS will keep records of all personal Information collected and the specific purpose for which it was collected for a period of 1 (one) year from the date on which it was last used.
3.2.5. BRUIDSGIDS will not disclose any personal information relating to you to any third party unless your prior written agreement is obtained or BRUIDSGIDS is required to do so by law.
3.2.6. If personal information is released with your consent, BRUIDSGIDS will retain a record of the information released, the third party to which it was released, the reason for the release and the date of release for a period of 1 (one) year from the date on which it was last used.
3.2.7. BRUIDSGIDS will destroy or delete any personal information that BRUIDSGIDS no longer needs for the purpose for which it was initially collected or subsequently processed.
3.3. Note that, as permitted by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, BRUIDSGIDS may use personal information collected to compile profiles for statistical purposes. No information contained in the profiles or statistics will be able to be linked to any specific user.
4. Collection of anonymous data
4.1. BRUIDSGIDS may use standard technology to collect information about the use of its website and social media platforms. This technology is not able to identify individual users but simply allows BRUIDSGIDS to collect statistics.
4.2. BRUIDSGIDS may utilise temporary or session cookies to keep track of users’ browsing habits. A cookie is a small file placed on your hard drive to keep a record of your interaction with BRUIDSGIDS website and facilitate user convenience.
4.2.1. Cookies by themselves will not be used to identify users personally. Still, they may be used to compile identified statistics relating to the use of services offered or to provide BRUIDSGIDS with feedback on the performance of its website.
4.2.2. The following classes of information may be collected in respect of users who have enabled cookies:
